Spring into Spring Cleaning

Spring into Spring Cleaning

March 1, 2023 - S SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Welcome to the season of spring! And, welcome to spring cleaning! That was certainly a wet winter we experienced in California, wasn't it? Spring cleaning is that annual ritual that brings out the best features of any building environment and there are some special cleaning tasks that need to be done to a building during spring to keep it clean, safe, and well-maintained. Here are some of our examples:

    1. General spring cleaning: Spring is traditionally the time of year for deep cleaning and organizing. This includes cleaning and disinfecting all interior areas of your building(s), including hard-to-reach places, and decluttering and organizing storage areas.
    2. Window cleaning: Spring weather can leave windows covered in dirt, dust, and pollen, making it difficult to see through them. Regular window cleaning can help maintain the building's appearance and improve natural light. Clean glass doors and smaller windows with a glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth to remove any smudges or fingerprints. Larger windows are best cleaned using professional window cleaning tools.
    3. Floor care: Spring weather can bring in mud, dirt, and other debris that can damage floors and carpets. Regular cleaning and maintenance of floors and carpets can help protect them from damage and prolong their lifespan. While you are there, make sure entrance mats are located both inside and outside of the entryway to prevent dirt and debris from being tracked inside the building. These mats should be regularly vacuumed, cleaned or replaced as needed.
    4. HVAC maintenance: During spring, the HVAC system may need to be switched from heating to cooling mode. It's essential to keep it clean and well-maintained to ensure it functions efficiently and prevents the spread of airborne pathogens.
    5. Exterior cleaning: Spring is a good time to pressure wash exterior surfaces, including building facades, sidewalks, and parking lots, to remove dirt and stains and improve the building's appearance.
    6. Disinfecting high-touch surfaces: During spring, seasonal flu, colds and other illnesses can still spread. Regular disinfecting of high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and elevator buttons can help prevent the spread of germs and keep occupants healthy. One of the most effective disinfectant cleaners available for high touch areas is ADVENT Ready-to-Use Disinfectant Cleaner.

By performing these special cleaning tasks during spring, building managers can ensure that their building is clean, safe, and well-maintained throughout the season. Remember, Blue Ribbon Supply is here to help you create and maintain healthy, happy and inspiring places! Contact us today!
